The producer
Maxime Ponson came home to the Petite Montagne in 2011 and began converting his father Pascal's conventional domaine parcel by parcel. When Pascal died suddenly in 2018, Maxime and his brother Camille carried the estate into its sixth generation. Thirteen and a half hectares across seventy premier cru parcels in seven villages, farmed without herbicides or pesticides. If you don't have a problem, you don't need medicine, as Maxime puts it. Coquard basket press, long cool ferments, minimal sulfur only at crush: Meunier led grower Champagne with a conscience.
