Estate

Mauro Marengo is a small family estate in Novello, at the southwestern edge of the Barolo zone in Piedmont. For generations the family farmed here and sold their fruit. Daniele Marengo changed that. A young winemaker who has quickly earned a name in the Langhe, he keeps and bottles the estate's own wine, farming the family's vineyards on the hills between Novello and Barolo, planted to the region's native grapes: Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto, and Nascetta.

Farming & Cellar

The wines are made in a traditional Piedmontese way, with native-yeast fermentations and aging in cask. Daniele's hand leans toward freshness, with earlier picking and a gentler touch in the cellar. The top vineyards include the Ravera cru.

The Wines

Two Barolos anchor the range, Angela and Ravera, alongside Langhe Nebbiolo, Barbera d'Alba Superiore, Dolcetto d'Alba, and Langhe Nascetta, the native white of Novello.
